Erika used the Infographics chapter from the Everyone Can Create Drawing project guide to find a fun, uncomplicated way to teach students about food webs.
In this activity, Erika’s students learned how to use drawing tools with Apple Pencil on iPad to design their own idea of a food web. First they learned about shapes, color, and lines to get comfortable with drawing. Then she asked her students to show how animals get their energy by drawing the connection between plants, prey, and predators. Using Pages, they drew colorful visual representations of a key scientific concept.
This project brought a new level of creativity and personalization in my classroom.
