Katie found activities in the Everyone Can Create Photo project guide to help her ESL students build and practice vocabulary while learning how different jobs help their community.

Katie started by having her students take selfie photos that they used to create personalized slides in Keynote. After searching for images of people doing different community jobs, they used the Instant Alpha tool in Keynote to replace the faces in those images with their own selfie photos. Then they used Apple Pencil to practice writing complete sentences about their dreams on each slide. This fun and engaging project allowed students to see the possibilities of what their future can hold, while blending together art, social studies, and technology.

My Kinder ESL students were able to practice our content vocabulary, as well as all of the language domains — reading, writing, speaking, and listening — using the support and guidance of our digital tools.
