Julie challenged her young students to creatively express their understanding of famous Australian landmarks in the style of a reporter, using Pages and iMovie on iPad.
Students used Apple Maps on iPad to look up locations. Then they chose an inspiring location to illustrate using Tayasui Sketches and Apple Pencil. They also researched facts about their location and created a script as a reporter.
Students then recorded video of themselves against a green screen, reading out their script using Presenter Mode in Pages as a teleprompter. They used iMovie to collate their video and illustration to place them in context of their location.

Finally, using the collaboration feature in iMovie, students added their segments to create one group film about various Australian destinations.
Using iPad allows students to place themselves in context of their topic and become creative with how they display their knowledge. Students are keen to show what they know and assist other students with their learning.
