Abbas wanted students to learn how to use Arabic interrogative sentences appropriately. In their digital workbooks, students listened to an audio recording of Abbas saying each Arabic interrogative, and then circled the correct English translation. They also recorded themselves pronouncing each word.
First, each student watched a video tutorial in their “Let’s Get to Know Each Other” digital workbook that introduced basic words, translations, and transliterations.
Next, they completed a matching activity to practice pairing each Arabic interrogative with its English translation.
Students then listened to an audio recording of Abbas saying each Arabic interrogative, and circled the correct English translation.
Finally, students wrote the Arabic translation for each interrogative and recorded their pronunciation of each word. By using audio recordings to listen to and capture audio, students were able to work at their own pace and reflect on their pronunciation.
Using iPad and audio recordings brings a multi‑media approach to learning language. Students can read, write, speak, and listen all using one tool.
