Morrakot Paaptanti Apple Teacher Middle School, Art
Art teaches students about shapes; Morrakot teaches students how these shapes can relate with one another to create art. Learn how she equips students with geometric knowledge that they can apply to create beautifully unique mandalas.
Morrakot first directed students to observe their surroundings and sketch a few objects that interest them in Notes. Learn about observational sketching in Chapter 2 of the Everyone Can Create Drawing guide.
Then she asked students to create shapes within a circle in Keynote.
She asked students choose a shape in Keynote that looked similar to an object in their sketch.
Next, she guided them to add more shapes, duplicate these new shapes, and flip them into different angles.
Students were then instructed to add colors to these shapes, creating a mandala with layers of interconnected shapes.
Students then grouped these shapes together and added animation to make the mandala come to life. Learn how to make motion graphics in Chapter 9 of the Everyone Can Create Drawing guide.
Art imparts skills, sparks creative thinking, and helps students connect to the real world. It can also be used to reinforce what they have learnt in other lessons too.
