Hi Emily - Apple Maps is one of my favorite apps. I’m a former history teacher but I think some of the activities I’ve done around primary sources can be easily ported over to Language Arts and the English classroom. Teaching novels that are place based, analyzing articles as you’ve mentioned or having students create stories or narratives are some great ways to include location and an exploration of place.
Here are some that I’ve posted - hope you can spark an idea from them. If so, I’d love to see what you come up with.
Hello! I am looking for any ways that people use the Maps app in a Language Arts/English classroom. I've used it in the past to view locations for articles that we have read and it has been neat for students to get a sense of perspective and relation to our location. Any other ideas for using this?
