You can add photos, audio recordings, or video clips directly into a spreadsheet to complement your tables and charts. Add depth to your data with audio explanations, self-reflection videos, or photos documenting the steps of an experiment.
Add a video from your Photos library. Click the Media button in the toolbar, choose Photos and Videos, then click a video to add it to the spreadsheet. You can also add photos and music to your project.
Drag a video from the desktop. If you’ve downloaded a video clip or copied it from another device, you can drag it directly from the desktop or another folder into your spreadsheet.
Resize and reposition your video. Drag the video to where you want it on the sheet, then drag one of the white selection handles to resize the video.
Choose a poster frame for the video. With the video selected, click the Movie tab in the Format sidebar, then click the disclosure triangle to open the Edit Movie options. Drag the Poster Frame slider until you get to a video frame of the image you want to use. This is the image that will be displayed on the sheet when the video isn’t playing.
Record an audio note. Click the Media button , then click Record Audio. Click the Record button to start recording. When you’re done speaking, click to stop recording. Click Preview to listen to the recording.
Click Insert to add the recording to your sheet. Drag the speaker icon to position it on the sheet. Click the icon again to play it back.
Support numeric data about places in your community by capturing media data. Record statistics and capture photos of popular activities or videos of traffic patterns, and use these to illustrate your spreadsheet.
Explain your thinking in a spreadsheet. Supplement charts, tables, and drawings with audio recordings that outline your solution to a complex problem.
Format a video of a lab experiment to make it loop back and forth when played so you can see and examine it in new ways.
