Forces & Friction: Sphero Investigation using Pages, Clips & Sketches

A friction investigation aimed at Year 7 students using Sphero’s. Students used the template attached to plan & conduct their investigation, and presented their findings in the form of a Clips video. The video needed to include footage of their investigation, hypothesis, variables, graph & discussion of their results and a scientific diagram to explain their results at the molecular level (see rubrics in the resource for this component). Sketches was used to graph results and draw in depth diagrams. Students used the screen & voice record feature of sketches to explain their diagram and added this to their Clips.

This task required students to use their Science Inquiry skills to plan and conduct an investigation, and present and discuss their findings to demonstrate the depth of understanding of friction and force.
