Turn off 2-Step Verification for Managed Apple IDs

Good morning,

Teachers aren't allowed their mobile phones in the classroom at our school, so occasionally if a teacher needs to access their iCloud account in a lesson, it can be impossible, since 2SV is usually required. Is there a way to have a code emailed rather than texted? Or an alternative. If not, could I request this as a feature please?

Many thanks.

Jo

2FA is required for the higher level accounts such as teachers and as far as I know cannot be disabled.

Thanks Miriam, I thought that was the case, but wanted to double check just in case. Would still like to submit it as a feature request though :) Hope you're well! Jo

Hello Jo,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

An alternative you may want to consider instead of using 2FA with a Managed Apple Account is Federated Authentication. Using an identity provider for authentication enables the option to configure the sign-in experience so that a phone number is not requirement.

If you like, you can provide feedback about the feature enhancement you mentioned using the link below.
