Screen mirroring tvOs 18

Hello,

we are currently experiencing issues with our Apple TVs and tvOS 18: connecting to the Apple TV for screen mirroring is not working properly, teachers have to repeat the process multiple times for it to work. We want to be sure that the problem is coming from tvOS 18 and not from our network. Is anyone also encountering this problem?

I am facing this issue too.

We are facing the same issue:

  • teachers have to try several times (between 2 and 6, for now), when a connection is already established
  • teachers have to re-enter the on-screen code, when a connection failed to establish
  • teachers get thrown out of the mirroring session after exiting a full screen mode in some apps (e.g. YouTube)

This happens when tvOS == 18 AND iPadOS =< 18.0.1. So it must be a tvOS thing.

Looking forward to an update on tvOS …

If you are a member of the AppleSeed for IT program, or someone in your organization is a member, there is a chance to test upcoming updates. We've been facing a similar issue with the Apple TV HD devices and an upcoming tvOS update has improved the connectivity for us :)

Our teachers are experiencing the same issue. reset and update does not fix this. It is most definitely an tvOS18 issue.
