After being named an Apple Distinguished School, the Fort Zeller and Jackson Primary Schools from Eastern Lebanon County (ELCO) School District are now looking to broaden the depth of innovation and creativity taking place within their classrooms. To do so, staff members from the buildings have developed an “iCan” curriculum for the use of technology based on the “Technology iCan Statements, Elementary” iBook written by Brendan Kelly, Casey Cohen, and Felicity Treptow. Additionally, the building Principals have established instructional focus groups who meet during built in professional learning opportunities to build resources that can be implemented within the classroom. Finally, a collaboration schedule has been established where staff members are each responsible for contributing best practices for the building on integrating technology into the classroom. What “next steps” are other Apple Distinguished Schools focusing on after receiving this recognition?

Loved the FAB15. That’s our next step. After that - getting profesional developers in our school. Finally, to get innovative.
