JAMF Teacher not restricting apps

Hello

We are a BYOD school with non-managed Apple IDs that are looking into ways to ensure that our students are not tempted by using non-school apps. At present we use classroom to monitor but there are number of ways the kids can’t wriggle out of the controls.

I’ve tried out JAMF teacher and notified that many of the games that our students are downloading are not being restricted.

Is this due to the devices not having an enrolled ID?

While I can’t comment on the Jamf Teacher app, considering you mentioned this is a BYOD deployment, I’m curious if it’s related to the lack of device supervision (since most BYOD devices aren’t supervised).

You can tell if a device is supervised by going to Settings and seeing if there is a supervision notice beneath the Setting's search field.
