So traditionally my learners do the majority of their work on a class set of MacBooks and during the breaks they have been able to take these devices home with them. This year the class devices are staying in the classroom, but each learner has an iPad they bring home with them. I have been searching for an easy way for them to be able to work on their Create Task on iPad and pass their code to Xcode on their class MacBook but so far I haven't been able to find an optimal way to do this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can make this work flow of coding on both iPad and MacBook work out? I am open to any suggestions so that my learners don't have to pause their time on their projects if they want to work on them over breaks. Thank you!
I suggest using Swift Playgrounds on the iPad and installing it on the Mac. You can open the file in Xcode.
if the same ID is used on both they will sync easily.
I learned to code in Xcode but teach code with iPad so I regularly do this.
A couple of considerations though, Xcode files are very big so ensure there’s space on both devices and also some Xcode features may be unavailable in Playgrounds.

Hi Marcus,
It’s likely possible if they save their work to their iCloud, they will be able to pull it back up on their iPad:MacBook when they return to school after break.
Maybe this is a possibility.
They may also be able to save it locally to their iPad and Airdrop it to their MacBook when they return to school. If not, they may be able to connect the iPad to the MacBook via cable and import the files that way.
Good luck.
Pam
