Experiencing issues with iPad and Google apps.

We teachers that have been using Google apps (Classroom, drive, docs, etc...) but over the last couple of weeks usage has been spotty at best. At first we thought it was our network connect to the outside via microwave, but they they have resolved the issues with that. So now I am at a loss. The apps with work randomly on random iPads one minute, then not the next minute. We have updated all devices to the most current version, have update all the Google apps. Sometimes turning the wifi off and back one works, sometimes deleting the google app and reinstalling works for a while, but nothing that has been consistent. The only thing that has been consistent is when users use the Chrome browser they get a Service Unavailable message.

I am in charge of the iPads and technology at our school site, the Network is another bureaucratic department, that is unsure what is going on; code for it is my problem. The rest of the district is Chromebooks, which are not presenting any problems.

Any suggestions on what I can ask/tell the Network admins to look at to help resolve our issues?

It is only the Google apps.

It may be best for you to get in touch to discuss this with your Apple SE. You can find out who your Apple SE is by calling 1-800-800-2775 and choose option 4 to get connected with your school's Apple sales team.

We had the same issue and after A LOT of digging around I found that the Google Service "Make Searches and Browsing Better" was causing the error. Turning that off while signed into Chrome as a student stopped the error from appearing.

The setting is called "Enable URL-keyed anonymized data collection" in Google Admin. Go to Devices -> Chrome -> Settings and search for it. The default may say 'Allow the user to device', change this to 'Data collection is never active'.
