I’ve been using Freeform in a music video collaboration project where students worked with original artists at our school, and it has been a huge leap forward in how I plan and deliver learning. What began as a simple visual planner for my unit quickly evolved into a shared space where the left side became the structured resource hub and the right side became a collaborative zone for student creativity.
The sharing across iPad, iPhone, and Mac made it easy for students to sketch, capture, and refine ideas in real time. It felt like teaching and learning were happening in the same space as the creative process.
But here’s the thing: It still can't compete with OneNote as a central point for content delivery and student work review. Freeform isn’t there yet, but it feels like it could be. Imagine a teacher version of Freeform that lets you distribute resources and tasks to students, integrates with Apple Classroom and iCloud, and even exports grades to platforms like SEQTA or Schoolbox. That would be a true game changer.
Freeform has the potential to transform how we design and deliver learning, but it needs those next steps. Who else is using Freeform in this way, and what features would make it your go-to hub for teaching and learning?
