In 2022 I was asked if I would like take part in an innovation accelerator with Dell Education in Canada. Out of this was born Zip Captions a free to use live captioning tool which runs in your browser (and supports Safari). Fast forward a little and we realized that getting your captions to the end user is actually more useful than seeing them on the big screen, so we allowed teachers to send their captions live to their students! Then we realized that you can also capture notes from the captions as a transcript, so we let people save and download a transcript on their device, and then we figured out you can feed this to AI LLMs to create educational content.
Combining devices such as AirPods, iPads and even in our high school theatre a MacMini it's possible to expand accessibility in the classroom to mean many learners needs.
So my question for you is, we've tried to tackle accessibility in the classroom, but how are you overcoming accessibility and how do you see the accessibility issue in the classroom evolving?
