Building Creators, Dreamers, and Innovators with Laptops - Apple Distinguished School 2019-2022
As leaders, we strive to give students all the pieces of the puzzle so they can craft their own vision of the future. Check out the following Multi-Touch Book for how El Dorado High School was able to do this with the Apple Ecosystem!
"Where are the future workers and creators, those who have the skills and experience in creating, collaborating, and are ready to tackle the latest real-world challenges? They are right here in the middle of the United States in El Dorado Kansas. Over 530 students come to school each day at El Dorado High School with new ideas to try, a desire to communicate with others, and to make a difference in the world. Each student receives an 11’ MacBook Air along with the full Apple Suite of apps for content creation. While EHS teachers receive a 13” MacBook Air, an iPad Generation 6, and Logitech Crayon. Students are provided with remarkable opportunities at EHS in one of the most innovative environments in Kansas. The Apple Ecosystem, along with a technology-rich building and innovative teachers and administrators, provides these students an avenue to experience the world by changing how they see it and teaching them how to communicate their ideas and discoveries to others. This 1-to-1 implementation has been evolving for sixteen years. It began in 2004 when it was implemented by a future-focused group of people within the school district and community. EHS has been honored to be called an Apple Distinguished School since 2008 and strives every day to continue to be a driving force behind innovative learning and teaching. El Dorado High School graduates are the future workers who are creators, dreamers, and innovators, and are ready to solve the future real-world challenges."
Thank you so much for sharing El Dorado's story Julie!
