Freeform iCloud

Question:

We are using JamfPro and have our students iPads with a profile that locks them out of their Apple ID. The new apple app Freeform requires iCloud to be turned on. Do you know of an automatic way to allow this without the need to unlock the Apple ID and students manually turning it off?

Hi DirTech,

Thanks for your question! I'm one of Apple's K12 Systems Engineers. Have you thought about implementing Managed Apple IDs for your students? Managed Apple IDs are a great way to personalize the education iPad experience will still maintaining control over the device and allowing use of iCloud features.

If you'd like to discuss further, please reach out to your dedicated Systems Engineer. You can find out who your Apple SE is by calling 1-800-800-2775 and choose option 4 to get connected with your school's Apple sales team.

Best,

Dominique

Thank you for the response. We do use Managed Apple IDs. We still need to unlock the Apple ID and then turn on FreeForm in iCloud after the update. Please let me know if I am missing something and we can force it to turn on.

Thank you
