I personally would say it depends on what your interests are in. If you are into coding and higher end video editing, or lots of data type entry. I would say the Mac.
But if you interest are more general, then the iPad is more than capable of handling most tasks.

What do your students use? I highly encourage our teachers to teach from the device the students use. I suggest focusing on learning more about the device used by your students.
