Magic Move is a powerful transition for moving, resizing, and rotating objects between slides. You can use Magic Move animations to sail a ship across the globe, recreate the action in a literary scene, or rearrange molecules in a chemical reaction.
Duplicate a slide. Click the thumbnail of a slide that contains a few objects, such as shapes or text boxes, then press Command‑D to make another copy of it.
Change the position or appearance of any of the objects on either the original or duplicate slide. You can drag objects to new locations, rotate or resize them, or change their color and style.
Add a Magic Move transition. Select the first of the two slides and click Add an Effect in the Animate sidebar, then choose Magic Move from the transition menu.
Use the Duration slider to change the speed of the transition. Click Preview to see how the transitions look with a longer or shorter duration.
Objects that you add to the duplicated slide will fade in during the animation.
Play the slides. Select the first slide in your animated sequence, then click Play . Press the right arrow key to advance through the slides.
Create animated scenes with Magic Move and shapes. Move objects across a map to illustrate a historical journey, or animate shapes to demonstrate mathematical concepts.
Apply the Magic Move transition to dynamically introduce new topics with images and bullets. Place a full‑screen image on the first slide, then place the same image alongside bullet points on the second slide.
Use Magic Move to create a simple animated sequence, then export the slides as a GIF — a short, looping animation. You can save the animated GIF in your photo library, send it in an email or message, or insert it into a Pages document.
