Help students deepen understanding of a story and improve reading comprehension by creating a postcard collage in Keynote that illustrates an important plot point or event in history. Have students write postcards from the perspective of literary characters or historical figures.
Open the postcard theme in Keynote. Then choose a scene from a book or history and use it for inspiration to create a postcard image. On one slide, feature one or more photos or drawings that represent the setting, characters, or symbolic objects from the scene.
On a second slide, write a postcard message from the perspective of one character to another. Include dates, places, names, and events from the story to summarize the plot, give voice to different characters, and bring the scene to life.
Modify this activity by sending video postcards to students or classroom pen pals in other parts of the world.

Encourage students to design and send a “call to action” postcard to raise awareness about an important cause, and include a voiceover recording to reinforce the message.
