Make new shapes by layering existing shapes in Keynote and combining them in various ways.

Place a shape over another, then subtract it to make a new shape.
Step 1
Tap Shapes and add a circle to the slide.
Step 2
Tap the circle to select it, resize it, and then drag it on top of the other shape.
Step 3
Touch and hold one shape.
Step 4
Tap the other shape with another finger to select both shapes.

Tap Format .
Step 6
Tap Arrange.
Step 7
Scroll down to Combine Shapes.
Step 8
Tap Subtract .
In this section, you’ll reinvent a shape by duplicating it and combining both shapes into a new one.
Step 1
On a new blank slide, tap Shapes .
Step 2
Tap Search at the top of the shapes library, then type “Comb.”
Step 3
Tap the comb shape.
Step 4
Resize it, then place it near the top of the slide.
Step 5
With your shape selected, tap it to open the menu.
Step 6
Tap Copy.
Step 7
Tap an empty area of the slide to deselect the shape, then tap again to open the menu.

Tap Paste.
Step 9
Tap Format to rearrange your shapes.
Step 10
Tap Arrange.

Tap Flip Vertically.
Step 12
Overlap the two shapes to make an interesting new shape.
Step 13
Touch and hold one of the shapes.
Step 14
Then tap the second shape with another finger to select both shapes.

Tap Format .

Tap Arrange.

Scroll down.
Step 18
Tap Unite . Your two shapes will be combined as one.
