Customize a Drumbeat

Step 1

Touch and hold the GarageBand icon until the menu pops up.

Step 2

Tap Create New Tracks Song.

Step 3

In the Sound browser, swipe to Drummer.

Step 4

Tap Acoustic.

Step 5

Tap Kyle.

Step 6

Scroll through the list of Drummers and look for Darcy.

Step 7

Tap Darcy.

Step 8

Tap Play to listen to Darcy’s beat.

Step 9

Tap Stop at any time.

Tip

You can download additional drummers from the Sound Library.

Step 1

Tap Play .

Step 2

Customize the sound of Darcy’s kit by tapping percussion instruments to hear or mute them.

Step 3

Drag the slider next to each group of instruments to the left or right to change the patterns they play.

Step 4

Drag the yellow puck in the XY pad to change the volume and complexity of the performance.

Step 5

Drag the Fills slider to the right to add more variations, called fills, to the drumbeat as Darcy plays.

Tip

Experiment with the XY pad, sliders and fills until you find a beat you like. You can always change it later.

Step 6

To adjust the tempo, or speed of the beat, tap Settings .

Step 7

Tap Tempo.

Step 8

Tap the up or down arrow next to the tempo number to increase or decrease the speed.
