Mask Text with Images

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to fill text with an image.

Add a text box.

You’ll add, move and resize a text box on your Keynote slide.

Step 1

Tap Shapes.

Step 2

Tap Text to add it to the slide.

Step 3

Tap and drag a blue dot out to extend your text box.

Step 4

Tap and drag the text box to move it.

Step 5

Tap Format.

Step 6

Tap Text.

Step 7

Tap Font.

Step 8

Scroll through the list until you find Rockwell.

Step 9

Tap Rockwell.

Step 10

Tap Text to go back to the menu.

Step 11

Tap B to make your text Bold.

Step 12

Tap on the number to change the size.

Step 13

Type in 250.

Step 14

Tap Done.

Step 15

Tap anywhere on your slide to close the menu.

Double-tap the text box to type a letter or word.

Step 17

Type a letter, a word or your name.

Step 18

When you’ve finished typing, tap Hide Keyboard.

Tip

To mask different letters with different images, make a new text box for each letter. You can copy and paste, and edit each letter to save time.

Format your text.

You’ll fill your text box with an image and add an outline.

Step 1

With your text box selected, tap Format.

Step 2

In the Text tab, tap Text Colour.

Step 3

Tap Image.

Step 4

Tap Change Image.

Step 5

Tap Choose Photo.

Step 6

Tap any photo to select it.

Tip

You can resize the image in your text box using any of the fill options.

Tip

You can change the colour by tapping Colour Overlay to turn it on.

Step 7

Tap Text to go back to the menu.

Step 8

To add an outline, tap More.

Step 9

Scroll to the bottom of the menu.

Step 10

Tap Outline to turn it on.

Step 11

Scroll down to Width.

Step 12

Tap the plus sign to increase Width.

Step 13

Tap Line Type.

Step 14

Select an option.

Step 15

Tap Back to return to the menu.

Tap Colour.

Step 17

Tap the Colour tab.

Step 18

Select any colour.
