Fraction Animations in Keynote

Keynote is an absolute favorite for having students create different little projects beyond presentations. Working to get students more engaged and creating fractions during math class, these task cards came to life. Each task card gives step by step directions to create a product (line drawing, animated gif, magic move, etc...) using fractions and the features of keynote. Some cards could take a lesson while others can be extended to include other apps or tools.

Tasks Included:

  • Shape Markup to Show Equivalency (Line Draw Animation)
  • Number Line Equivalent Animation (Magic Move)
  • Shape Markup to Compare Fractions (Line Draw Animation)
  • Musical Fractions using Mathigon (Screen Recording)

We had fun using these and hope you do as well. #OPSProud #OPS_Kennedy

I love how your task cards help students choose the ways in which they'll make their thinking visible. Keynote's animation options to bring fractions alive is amazing! It seems like your video isn't currently working, but I'm sure the examples you've collected are amazing. 💯

The task cards are wonderful! Learners love animation - so you’ve created a super engaging activity! Unfortunately your video wouldn’t play for me.😟
