Keynote Text Message Template

Two of our amazing RLA teachers had an idea for students to retell a story through text messages! By "texting" through two characters' perspectives, students were able to summarize and show their learning and understanding.

We worked together to create a Keynote text message template. In class, their students were able to add text, animate it with the keyboard effect, add audio recordings while they read their writing aloud, and export it as a movie to make it look like a live texting conversation.

Feel free to take and edit this template as needed - adding sentence stems to the text bubbles is an easy way to scaffold for groups of students as well. Another idea is to make this a collaborative partner activity as well.

My teachers loved how engaged their students were with this simple activity, and I'm glad I got to be a part of the brainstorming process! #weareLCP

How fun for the learners (who are probably seasoned Messengers)! Great way to grab student engagement with a texting Keynote template. Very creative! Thanks!
