If you’re looking to get started in learning to typeset mathematics with some common commands, check out this PDF resource: Quick Reference for Pretty Math in Apple Pages.
My previously published reference manual, Pretty Math, contains all the LaTeX commands and environments for typesetting mathematics in Pages (and Keynote and Numbers too), along with suggestions and guidelines for proper formatting and alignment. (See the Apple Education Forum post about it here.) It’s got everything! And that might be more than you need.
As a companion to that comprehensive guide, I developed a condensed, two-page reference sheet of my most commonly-used LaTeX commands, and the ones likely widely used by others in STEM. I can look back to this Quick Reference for most of my mathematical typesetting needs (and refer to Pretty Math for the rest), which saves me time and helps me stay in the flow in my document creation process.
I’m sharing this Quick Reference for Pretty Math in Apple Pages here in the hopes that you may find it helpful too, regardless of whether you’re experienced with typesetting mathematics or just starting out.
(Any common mathematical symbols from your field I missed? Let me know in the comments!)
