Project Description: This template helps students in CTE classes stay engaged and grow. Using the Keynote or Pages Student Portfolio template, students can document and share their learning journeys. This encourages reflection, shows progress, and links elective courses with core subjects. Students will develop new skills, explore CTE career options, and connect CTE classes with core content concepts.

Story: This past year, I began teaching multiple CTE courses alongside my STEM elective class. I wanted my students to take ownership of assessing their skills and knowledge in the CTE courses. By creating Ag portfolios, students were able to identify connections to core content areas and view math through real-world applications. This approach allowed me to differentiate my assessments, enabling all students to showcase their best work using various accessibility features available on the iPad.

Benefits for Teachers: Gain insights into student progress; provide targeted feedback; enhance communication with parents; foster a collaborative learning environment.

Intended audience: Middle School and High School Students

Modifications for other audiences: Elementary Special Area teachers / Elective teachers can download this template and modify and adjust it for their content or use it as a working document for their whole department. This will be a great digital “ticket out the door” to the end of the class period or a great way for students to recap the activities they participated in special area classes.

Wonderful template for Career Tech Education! Your approach really connects their classroom experience with other content areas. Very interdisciplinary. Love that learners use real-world experiences and then chart them through the portfolio. Thanks for providing this much needed template for Career Tech teachers!
