Comprehensive Classroom Data Tracker: Student and Class Analytics

Download this easy to use digital data tracker to monitor your students’ progress throughout the year.

Keeping track of student data and progress can be overwhelming with countless papers, documents, platforms, and work types. Using Numbers to visually represent student and class progress is as easy as checking a box! Numbers can seem intimidating because of formulas and scary looking codes but all of the formulas have been done for you so your data will magically populate beautiful charts with the click of a button!

Using this year-long unit data tracker you will be able to keep track of your students’ progress in one place. This tracker is customizable and tracks student progress throughout the course of each unit (pre-test, mid unit quiz, post-test). The "landing page" is an “at-a-glance” report of the class average for the pre-test, mid unit check-in (quiz), and post-test.

Here’s how it works:

*Don’t be alarmed when you open it up and see red triangles! If you remember from math class, you can’t divide by zero (or at least that’s what Numbers tells me…). Once you start entering student data, the triangles will go away.

 0. Do not enter anything on the “Class Overview” tab. Things will magically appear when you start entering things on the other tabs.

1. Start by clicking on the “student 1” tab. You can change the name of the tab by Clicking the arrow —> “rename”

a spreadsheet with menu open that reads rename.

2. Enter the name of the student in the box where it says “Student 1”. It will then *magically* populate on the first page. Do that for all of your student names.

3. As you begin to plan your units, you can change the title of each unit. Since they are color coordinated I recommend changing it only on the overview page. To do so, double click the cell that says “Unit __” and enter your new title.

4. Entering student data:

-when you administer your first assessment, check the box if your student got the answer correct. As you continue checking boxes, the score and graph will begin to change.

**IMPORTANT: If you have less than 30 questions, you will need to delete the extra question numbers so the scores populate correctly. To delete the number, highlight the cell(s) and click ‘delete’. (You do not need to delete the checkboxes.)

5. Repeat this for all students.

6. Go to the Class Overview and you should see your class’s average score!

Extra Tips:

*Use this for multiple subject areas by duplicating the document. (File-->Duplicate)

*On each student's tab, you can link artifacts, projects, assignments, and assessments to each Unit's pre-test, quiz, and post-assessment.
