My new AI-driven reading comprehension app

Introducing... Spark Education AI.

Inspired by my 6 year old nephew, I spent the last 6 months creating a new educational tool which leverages Artificial Intelligence to improve both reading attainment and attitudes towards reading in students. The application is the first of its kind. A student-facing tool where students can generate stories specific to their teacher-assigned reading age, bringing their wildest imaginations to life.

I presented the first version of the application at the Apple Distinguished Educator summit in Monterrey, Mexico. As an ADE, I was delighted to be able to share my hard word and passions with my other colleagues in education:

As a primary school teacher with 15 years experience in the classroom, I have always had a passion for embedding emerging technologies within my teaching and learning. However, I was becoming a little overwhelmed by the feature heavy AI educational tools currently available. I wanted to ensure Spark Education AI had an extremely simple interface that was easy to use by both the teacher and student.

Here's how it works:

With a legal and ethical obligation to ensure all data and privacy laws have been met, I have collaborated with Legal Nodes to ensure all GDPR laws and regulations are adhered to. Additionally, rigorous profanity filters embedded within the app ensure that all content generated by the application is age appropriate. More information on this can be found here.

With trials already underway in schools across Mexico, the USA and Scotland, I am getting wonderful feedback from both teachers and students on the effectiveness of the application and am super proud of my progress so far. The application is now available in both English and Spanish languages 🇬🇧 🇪🇸

Thank you,

Marc
