Using Pages to develop body percussion

🎶 I'm a secondary school music education teacher and I've just created a worksheet for students to work on body (and/or instrumental) percussion based on elements worked on in class. This worksheet, in Pages format, enables students to listen again to the examples they've seen in class, so they can work on them independently at home.

Thanks to GarageBand, I was able to take video screen captures so as to have visual elements in addition to sound to guide the students. After practicing, they can also assess themselves (1 ⭐️ when they succeed but not every time, and ⭐️⭐️ when they succeed every time). They must also record themselves (with the Dictaphone, for example) to provide proof of the success of their work.

By adding this sheet to your Pages templates, you can easily replace the video examples and duplicate the first page to offer other, more difficult extracts. This way, everyone can progress at their own pace.

Thanks in advance for your feedback, and don't hesitate to share.

I love this, Nicolas! 🌟 Such a great challenge for students to listen to and watch your examples and then physically perform the body percussion ostinati! 🦶 👏 💥

We’ve been doing some body percussion activities lately too in some classes, and I often use the Beat Sequencer in conjunction with this.

It’s worth trying activities where they have to reverse the process too: Perform a body percussion pattern, and then try to recreate it with the Beat Sequencer (or Drum Machine pads). Which can also become a nice way to integrate some graphic or more standard notation.
