Create self-portrait with shapes

Combine math and creative creation! When we work with geometric shapes, students will, among other things, create a self-portrait of shapes. We do this in Pages, but you can also create it in Keynote.

  1. Learn about geometric shapes.
  2. Create a self-portrait using only geometric shapes.
  3. Meet a classmate and tell them about the shapes you used and how you created your self-portrait.

You can create simple and more advanced ones. Therefore, this task is suitable for all students in a class. We have done this exercise in year 1 at an special education elementary school, but since the level is adapted based on the students' age and skills, it can be used in higher grades.

What a great idea, Helly! And, a superb Pages template to use. 🙌 I really like the hair textures on the page 4 example!

So much potential with the shapes library in Keynote! What a great bunch of ideas, I can't wait to share them with my colleagues. Thanks Helen! I think my P3 class will love to create their self-portraits using geometric shapes. It's also a lovely way to start the new term.
