ANZAC DAY Collaborative Silent Movie

Our Year 2 students made collaborative artwork (mahi tahi) in groups of 4 to commemorate ANZAC Day coming up on 25th of April. This year is the 110th anniversary of Gallipoli, in 1915.

Students either drew their poppy with pastel or used collage. Some used a combination of mixed media. They then stuck it onto a copy of the sheet music for The Last Post.

Afterwards, we practiced their photography skills, by taking a quality, in focus photo of their shared artwork. We decided to use the droplet animation in Keynote to look like tears and have a silent movie to match the minute(s) of silence.

We will share our silent movie out to whānau (family) through some of the kura (school's) social media sites on Friday.
