Apple foundation models for education

Apple’s new on-device foundation models are opening up private, safe, and powerful possibilities for education. With iPadOS26, Apps will start to integrate these foundation models in their education content.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been experimenting with different ways these models could support learning — from Socratic questioning to guide storytelling, to AR voice activation that brings ideas to life.

I thought I’d put all seven prototypes together into one reel, so you can see the range of possibilities in a single place. Each one runs entirely on the device — no tracking, no cloud, no logins — giving educators and schools confidence that privacy comes first.
