I used a choice board from: Tanya Leon ADE@mrstleon as my inspiration and recreated a board that fit the needs of students high in math. I used our district's curriculum HMH 4th grade inquiry projects to help come up with ideas for the choice board.
A math choice board that incorporates technology offers students both voice and choice in their learning, while also building critical digital skills. By providing a variety of tech-based activities—such as interactive simulations, math games, instructional videos, and problem-solving apps—students can select tasks that match their learning style and readiness level. This not only increases engagement and motivation but also promotes deeper understanding as students take ownership of their learning path. Additionally, integrating technology into the choice board prepares students for the digital demands of modern society, helping them become more confident, independent, and resourceful learners.
Using Keynote within the math choice board adds an additional layer of creativity and communication. Students can use Keynote to visually represent math concepts, create interactive presentations, and explain their problem-solving process in a dynamic format. This allows them to demonstrate understanding in multiple ways while practicing essential skills in presentation design, organization, and digital storytelling. Incorporating Keynote encourages students to move beyond rote answers and instead articulate their mathematical thinking, making their learning more meaningful and lasting.
