Digital Myth-Mapping: Pagsusuri sa Katangian at Pagbabago ng Tauhan

Short Description: Discussion of the myth and analysis of the character's traits.

Learning Goal/Skill:

·   Understands the myth and identifies the changes in the character.

·   Analyzes the traits of the character based on the actions, speech, and decisions made in the myth of Daedalus and Icarus.

Activity Steps:

1. Watching the video of the mythology of "Daedalus and Icarus"

·   The video is in the Keynote lesson.

2. Answer the guide questions. The students will answer in Notes or Pages after watching.

·       A. What did Daedalus do so that he and Icarus could escape?

·      B. What was his warning to Icarus regarding the use of the wings?

·      C. What happened to Icarus when he did not follow the warning?

·      D. What about his father, Daedalus?

·       E. What did the father mean by these statements to his child?

"Huwag kang lilipad nang masyadong mataas," dahil ang init ng araw ay maaaring

magtunaw sa waks ng mga pakpak.

"Huwag ka rin lilipad nang masyadong mababa," dahil ang kahalumigmigan ng dagat

ay maaaring magpabigat sa mga balahibo.

"Lipad ka sa gitna, sa tamang taas lamang," upang maging ligtas ang iyong

paglalakbay.

         The students will answer in Notes or Pages after watching.

3. Identify the change in the character's traits. The students will

create a Character analysis chart using Freeform (Apple Creativity Tool).

Steps:

·      A. Open Freeform.

·      B. Create a new board.

·      C. Place a picture of Daedalus and Icarus in the middle.

·      D. Use Sticky Notes for:

o   Traits

o   Evidence

o   Character Change

·      E. Draw arrows to show the connection.

4.Sharing of personal experiences related to the story

5. Connecting the lesson to current/contemporary issues

6. Gamified learning using Blooket

7. Providing closure using the Padlet app

6. Making a Character analysis chart using Apple’s Freeform board

Example of Submission Procedure:

If the students have already created an Apple's Freeform board on the iPad, they can easily share it with their teacher or classmates.

Method 1: Share to Collaborate with Others

Open Freeform.

Select the board that was created.

Tap the Share button (📥) on the top right.

Select Collaborate.

Choose how to share it:

Messages

Mail

AirDrop

Google Classroom

Microsoft Team

Send the link to classmates or the teacher.

Method 2: Save as PDF and Submit

If the task is complete and just needs to be turned in:

Open the Freeform board.

Tap Share (📥).

Select Export as PDF.

Save to Files.

 Understanding the myth becomes more visual and meaningful.

 Critical thinking is deepened when analyzing characters.

Creativity and digital literacy are demonstrated using Freeform.

Students can better connect the moral of the myth to real-life decision making.
