A student-centred digital learning project where students collect, organise, analyse and represent real-world data using Numbers on iPad. The lesson integrates the 5E instructional model, PAK-21, Think-Pair-Share and technology-enhanced learning.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
Construct data representations for ungrouped data and justify the appropriateness of a data representation.
8. Activities
Engage – Students watch a short video stimulus and identify how information is presented visually.
Explore – In pairs, students examine different sets of data and discuss which graph is most suitable. Think-Pair-Share is used to develop their reasoning.
Explain – Teacher introduces the characteristics and purposes of bar charts, pie charts, line graphs and dot plots. Students use Pages as a digital reference/resource.
Elaborate – Students use Numbers on iPad to enter data, create their selected graph and analyse the results. Groups present and justify why their chosen representation is appropriate.
Evaluate – Students complete a short exit ticket to identify a suitable graph and explain one conclusion from a given data set.
9. Closing
Students share one new understanding about data representation and one reason why choosing the appropriate graph matters. Teacher reinforces that graphs are not merely for displaying data, but help us communicate, compare and make decisions from data.
