Further the Design of Human-Centered AI by Designing Accessible AI Features — HCAI Teaching Kit

This kit guides educators to design and evaluate AI experiences with accessibility built in from the beginning, using human-centered questions and design principles to respond to each learner’s needs over time.

Through real-world scenarios, participants learn to understand an individual's expressed needs and apply them throughout the app design and development process.

They explore how built-in accessibility tools, AI capabilities and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) can reduce barriers and promote inclusion.

They also examine how responsible AI practices such as reducing bias, protecting privacy and ensuring transparency shape their design decisions.

Finally, they evaluate their solutions through human-centered AI (HCAI) and accessibility guidelines to make sure they support individuals rather than harm them.

Intended audience: Designed for Higher Education. The activities and scenarios can easily be adapted for learners at any level, from secondary school to professional development.
