From Keynote Digital Art to...Fabric Art!

My year 2 and 3 students have spent the last 4 weeks before the holiday break deigning, planning and sewing their quilt pieces to make into 3 collaborative quilts. This could not have been done without the help and support of our parents and grandparents and, also made this a very special family and school collaborative art project.

We have used Keynote, screen printing, hand stitching, painting, mathematical thinking and our school Bernina sewing machine as part of the textile design process! Below are some Keynote images that were incorporated into the quilts through screen printing and I have attached a PDF of the process we took.

This has been the best collaborative art project I have ever been a part of, and I am looking forward to celebrating our student's creativity for our Whakarongo Festival next week.
