Transforming 3D Art Pedagogy: Bridging Physical Origami FORM and AR via Reality Composer among Secondary School Students in Malaysia

There are more than 2 million Secondary School Students aged between 13-17 years old, Malaysia.

Total Secondary Student Population: Malaysia has roughly 2.0 to 2.1 million secondary school students across public and private national schools.

Smartphone vs. Dedicated Learning Device Access:

  • High Internet & Smartphone Reach: Over 98% of Malaysian households have internet access, and smartphone penetration among teenagers is over 95%.

In my current school in Penang :

Class sizes average approximately 35 students.

How can conventional and contemporary art techniques be integrated to enhance students’ creativity in art-making?

With Reality Composer, it is all POSSIBLE!!!

Can Form Be More Than What We See and Touch?

From Concrete to Illusion:

Can We Transform Form?

How Can Form Come to Life in AR?

By structuring a lesson around the 5E Model—Engage students' curiosity through an opening question on digital access, Explore the statistics behind Malaysia’s secondary school students in their classroom environments, Explain the underlying gap between smartphone ownership and access to dedicated educational devices, Elaborate on how these disparities impact learning outcomes and digital inclusion across different demographics, and Evaluate their understanding through a critical discussion or problem-solving task—teachers can turn abstract statistics into a compelling, inquiry-driven learning experience.

We place our students at the centre of the teaching and learning process.

Ensure students understand the concept before progressing to the next stage.

With Reality Composer by Apple, students can see, explore, and experience form beyond the physical.

Students are no longer just learning about form—they can visualise, explore, and experience it in a more meaningful way.

Thanks to Reality Composer, Form can come to life beyond the classroom.

See it.

Create it.

Experience it.
