3. About the Learning Activity

Sound Detective is an engaging listening and language arts activity inspired by Gulliver’s Travels graphic novel.

Pupils become sound detectives as they explore different sounds associated with actions and situations in the story. Through visual sound effects and audio prompts, they discover how onomatopoeia brings a story to life.

The activity encourages pupils to go beyond recognising sounds. They are encouraged to imagine what is happening, make connections with the characters and express how the sounds make them feel.

Apple technology supports the learning experience through audio, animation, visual effects and digital storytelling.
