Leadership Quotes: Change and going 1:1 iPad

Across the diocese we have been focusing on what effective pedagogy looks like with technology, and what tools we need to support this. Change as we know is hard. Schools are often reluctant to be the first to try to new things. These are some of my favourite quotes about change that I shared with my technology network:

  • "Vision without execution is hallucination" Thomas Edison
  • "We rarely create something different until we experience something different" George Couros
  • "Change is inevitable. Growth is optional" John Maxwell
  • "Change almost never fails because it's too early. It almost always fails because it's too late" Seth Goodwin

Now in the diocese, we have had four primary schools going 1:1 iPad this year. This has enabled other schools to be the "on lookers" and keen to learn more. Therefore we have been running iPad leasing session (that ticks the school's box on how they can afford it), planning essentials (ticks the box on what the journey will look like) and PL on how the iPad will support and reinforce the pedagogies we want in the dioceses.

We have had a lot of interest from schools, particularly with resourcing the iPad in the K-2 space. Next year looks to be an exciting one as more and more of our 34 primary schools are investing into the iPad.
