Sketch Note Basics: Pages Workbook

Throwback to my very first pages workbook! For my 2019 ADE project, I took inspiration from the ISTE Pages workbook and decided to create my own workbooks! The first one that I went with is on the theme of Sketchnotes and is now available at my website,  Bethany Marie.

The workbook includes themes like containers, connectors, symbols, text and people, as well as a video that introduces the idea of sketch notes. In the end there is an activity where students can split their screen and sketch note along with a video. I did this with my 4/5 and 3/4 classes this fall and they loved it! We also practiced along to BrainPop videos. I've also shared the file on twitter and am excited that other teachers have shared that they’re giving it a try as well!

I really love the scaffolding in this workbook! I've found that many adult learners are nervous to try sketchnoting because they feel like they "just aren't artistic enough." This workbook takes all that pressure off and creates space to practice different elements of a sketchnote before putting it all together in practice. Thanks so much for sharing!
