...not holding back!

Often, learners restrain themselves due to anxiety about grasping the material and the pressure to consistently perform. They dread making mistakes in front of peers and teachers or hesitate to share their passion projects for fear of criticism.

Herbert Spencer's words resonate that, "The great aim of education is not knowledge but action.” We aim to empower our students to create, produce, and proudly showcase their projects. We urge them to embrace vulnerability as they share their vision, regardless of feedback. At our core, we all yearn for acceptance, appreciation, and celebration. To cultivate this, we must strive to create environments where everyone feels safe, acknowledged, and empowered to share openly. (Learners find it easier to develop skills when they are confident in their potential.)

As an educator, I commit to fully embracing and embodying my authentic self in the roles of teacher, creative artist, and entrepreneur. In leading by example, I aim to inspire my learners to do the same, encouraging them to unleash their full potential without reservation. - 🫡💪🏾💯

... jumping into this forum feet first FINALLY and truly using this as a safe space to refuel, share, and gain innovative ideas to share with my teachers. In my sixth year as a DLS (instructional coach) I find it difficult at times to refuel my own excitement and learning. I want to make that a priority for me to be refueled and enlightened with new ideas so I can continue to spread the joy of sharing innovative strategies in teaching with an iPad. I know I can do that in this forum and I am glad to be a part of it.

Using as many hands-on engineering challenges as possible to teach physical science! The students love to build, and I love the conversation that happens while they’re doing it.
