I have a number of students who did not do well in main stream classes, but in a project and challenged based environment I was able to help them realize how intelligent and creative they are.

I knew I made a difference in a student’s life when she wrote me a letter after her graduation thanking me for being her teacher and coach, and that I inspired her to enter education and coaching!

… A student’s (kindergarten) mom told me he was sitting at the kitchen table working on a project and said “Miss Pettit said mistakes are ok, I won’t give up!” All I want is to instill problem solving and perseverance in my students 🩷

At the local Little League fields I heard a player saying "I can do it, I know I can". We say this daily in my Kindergarten class. Any time we are trying something new, or something that challenges us, my class will chant "I can do it, I know I can. Sure enough, it was a student from my class.
