Students had the opinion AI was just useful for them to cheat on assignments.
To demonstrate the wide range of uses of AI I showed them how I used AI to create their assessment task and scaffolded solution, and then incorporated it into their task to create sample datasets etc.
This included the requirement for them to analyse the social and ethical implications of AI for teachers and students.
The assessment was very successful in students engaging in deep analysis of future technological developments and the impact it would have on them and their futures.
