I shared my story in the first group rotation on day one at the #ANZSummit24
We shared and discussed what we're doing for students now in 2024 that prepares them in 20 years time.
We were asked: What am I doing to prepare students for the learning in 20 years time (2044)?
Situation: In my current role of a classroom teacher in 2024, I teach a grade five class of 31 students.
Action: What I do in the classroom is teach them content according to the curriculum through different Apple apps such as Keynote and Pages that invites them, engages them in the content in a fun and interactive way where they aren't just learning from pen and paper. For example, we in this upcoming term we are teaching the students about North and South America. Students will use Keynote to label and locate a map of North and South America.
Result: The result of this is that by learning about the content, with following tasks they are then encouraged to go create and showcase their knowledge and research on a country in North and South America through a Keynote and even create vlogs we're they pretend to be "influencers"/content creators travelling to those countries without actually leaving their classroom.
