If students are taught to be creative problem solvers, then they are able to take charge of their learning. Using iPads allows our students to solve their problems in a variety of ways. They are not limited in the ways they can find answers to their problems and questions. I encourage students to look beyond their teacher when finding answers and demonstrating their knowledge and understanding. For example, students were able to create a stop motion video to demonstrate their understanding of shadows, as telling a story. By creating a video they not only demonstrated story telling, science knowledge but worked collaboratively, negotiated roles and had to problem solve the best ways to work together to demonstrate what they knew. They also had blast making it.
