Our discussion on how we can empower our learners today and prepare them for tomorrow was very interesting because of the many different educators that were present.
We discussed how pedagogy trumps the tool being used. While technology has indeed transformed the educational landscape for all of the teachers present, it became quite clear that the core challenges we face as educators have remained consistent with those of the past. The scenarios may have changed, but the problems persist. This underscores the importance of focusing not just on the tools we use, but more importantly, on the pedagogical approaches we adopt. We need build resilience, flexibility and other soft skills. These are not just academic skills, but life skills that will equip our learners to navigate the complexities of the world they will live in and run.
