Camouflaged Creatures in Keynote

As the Instructional Technology Facilitator based in an elementary school, I always try to reinforce field trips and real life experience with a standards based technology project. Every year after our second grade students go to the zoo, we teach a lesson about why the animals are sometimes difficult to find when they walk up to an enclosure.

We go on to talk about how and why animals camouflage into their surrounding really building that foundation tied to their state standard.

Then in Keynote, students add animals using shapes to different habitats. Using the color section tool within Keynote, students can make each animal a specific colors from the photo. See Video and photos.

Please see the attached file for the template. This template just starts with the title page, but when you "Add Slide," options for different habitats appear. Students can add as many different slides as they'd like.

So fun! Super way to show camouflage and have kids get creative at the same time. Very cool! thanks for the demo.
